Corey Kinsman, P.E., will be responsible for mentoring team members and helping to drive PBFPE’s continued success in his new role as Principal.
Nashville, TN (January 6, 2025) — Performance Based Fire Protection Engineering, PLLC (PBFPE) is proud to announce that Corey Kinsman, P.E., has been promoted to Principal. Based in Nashville, Kinsman is a distinguished Fire Protection Engineer and Code Consultant with nearly 20 years of experience delivering innovative fire protection solutions across diverse industries.
Kinsman has played a pivotal role in projects spanning lithium-ion battery manufacturing, warehousing and distribution centers with high-piled combustible storage, commercial nuclear power, government research, and industrial facilities. His expertise encompasses building and fire code compliance, hazardous materials analysis, performance-based design, and the design, inspection, and commissioning of automatic fire suppression and alarm systems. Kinsman’s ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks and effectively communicate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) has been a cornerstone of his success.
In his new role as Principal, Kinsman will continue to drive the growth of PBFPE through his leadership and dedication to excellence. He is committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment by mentoring team members at all levels, from associates to fellow principals, ensuring the development of a highly skilled and cohesive team. Kinsman’s ability to inspire and guide his colleagues will be instrumental in maintaining PBFPE's position as a leader in fire protection engineering.

Educated at Bradley University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Kinsman is a multi-state licensed professional who has significantly influenced fire protection engineering on a national scale. He serves on the Executive Committee for the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) Middle Tennessee Chapter and is a member of the International Code Council (ICC) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). His promotion to Principal recognizes his outstanding contributions, leadership, and the trust placed in him by both clients and colleagues.
