Austin Grant, P.E., joins The Blueprint Tour podcast to discuss the value of fire protection engineering in safeguarding lives and avoiding costly design mistakes.

Louisville, KY — The Blueprint Tour, a construction podcast hosted by PermitZIP, recently invited Austin Grant, P.E., of Performance Based Fire to talk about the importance of fire protection engineering. Grant was joined by podcast hosts Kenny Shultz and Carter Huddleston, as well as fellow fire protection engineer Sean Vizgirda, EIT.

The episode “Expert Tips for Fire Protection Success” covered the challenges of sprinkler system design and the importance of getting fire protection engineers involved early in the design process. The speakers also talked about performance-based design, including how it can bring greater flexibility to building design.

“It was an honor to be invited on to The Blueprint Tour,” said Grant. “I hope the audience found the conversations impactful. The world of fire protection engineering is always changing, so it helps to have discussions with other professionals to see how they adapt to everyday design challenges.”
