Adam Reis is a licensed fire protection engineer from Chapel Hill, NC, with over 18 years of experience in the field. Adam’s career has primarily focused on his role as an Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) within the federal government, where he gained invaluable insight into federal regulations and requirements across various building occupancies and construction types.
Throughout his career, Adam has contributed his fire protection expertise to numerous high-profile projects from conception to completion, including multimillion-dollar construction projects for multiple federal agencies. He has provided fire protection engineering review and acceptance testing for government buildings while ensuring compliance with NFPA, ICC, and OSHA standards, as well as agency-specific federal regulations.
Adam has extensive experience in unique historical occupancies, assembly occupancies, battery storage systems, electric vehicle charging requirements, commercial cooking operations, fire protection for IT equipment, and healthcare facilities. He holds a B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland. His proficiency in fire protection engineering, background with the federal government, and leadership on the ultimate frisbee field make him a valuable asset to the PBFPE team.
